Keratex Hoof Putty

Keratex Hoof Putty is a unique adhesive waxy substance which is cleverly designed to be packed  densely into punctures, holes and cavities, preventing mud and grit from getting up into the hoof and damaging the recovery process. It is particularly useful  to plug the hole left behind from an abscess after it has been drained and allows the horse to be turned out after abscess drainage and/or poulticing. This means that the owner can turn out with confidence after injury, breakage or abscess and without the need for a turn-out poultice.

Keratex Hoof Putty seals and waterproofs horn separation cavities, preventing germs from compromising hoof health. Self-adhesive, flexible and won’t drop our or deteriorate.

Seals and stabilizes hoof cavities caused by seedy toe, white line disease and other hoof conditions resulting in horn separation. Prevents grit and stones from entering the hoof. Can support tubes for flushing or draining cavities.

A unique type of malleable wax containing slow release organic disinfectants and antibacterials. Use to fill cavities left by conditions such as seedy toe and after the removal of abscesses from the sole. The broad spectrum organic disinfectants in Keratex Hoof Putty are effective in treating both fungal and bacterial problems.

Quicklyte

The intense muscular activity associated with training and competition, whether it is racing, eventing, show jumping endurance or dressage, results in an increase in body heat. The only way a horse can get rid of this heat is through sweat loss.
Sweat also represents the main route of fluid and electrolyte loss, between 5 and 10 litres per hour can be lost during an event or  race.
Rapid replacement of the fluid and electrolytes is important for a quick recovery. Failure to adequately replace lost electrolytes will lead to dehydration.
Saline drenching has always been the traditional method of ensuring rapid electrolyte replacement. Although effective, this method is often inconvenient and expensive as it usually requires the services of a veterinarian.
Now there is an alternative to saline drenching.
Quick-lyte paste is a combination of electrolytes and chelated minerals formulated in a single dose syringe. One 30ml dose syringe replaces the electrolytes lost in 2 litres of sweat. Because the electrolytes in Quick-lyte are present in a highly absorbable form, they are rapidly absorbed from the horse’s stomach. Quick-lyte uses a patented carrier that ensures the stability of the electrolytes and minerals during storage and also gives the product its free-flow properties that make it easy to use.
After taking Quick-lyte, horses have a strong desire to drink so it is important that fresh drinking water is made available. This makes Quick-lyte ideal to use before and after long float trips. How often do you hear of horses who won’t drink when they travel away from home?, Quicklyte will trigger a response to drink and often then to eat.
Some indications for using Quick-lyte include:;
  •  8 to 12 hours before intense exercise
  •  1 to 2 hours after intense exercise
  •  Regularly during hot summer months
  • When horses won’t take electrolytes in their feed
  • Endurance Recovery Stops
  • After transportation
Quick-lyte also contains Iron Gluconate as well as Zinc, Copper and Cobalt chelates, all essential minerals for red blood cell production. Chelated minerals are more easily absorbed than ordinary minerals as they do not compete with each other for absorption sites across the gut wall. In addition, chelated means the presence of iron in Quick-lyte has no effect on adsorption of the minerals.

Keratex Cooling Gel

Soothes and cools muscles, tendons and ligaments after hard work.

Keratex Cooling Gel is the perfect way to cool your horse’s muscles, tendons and ligaments after exercise. It is also an effective way of preventing heat and inflammation in horses on stall rest, or during periods of travel.

Warm legs are more flexible on the inside which can lead to pulled tendons and damaged ligaments. Keratex Cooling Gel is a great way of keeping your horse’s legs cool during or after exercise, stabling or travel.

Keratex’s unique Cooling Gel actually cools by evaporation, making it more effective than other cooling gels available in the market.

Keratex Cooling Gel does not contain menthol or camphor. Menthol and camphor simply temporarily numb the hot nerve receptors, which in turn enhances the cold nerve receptors, so the horse, and the person applying it, are given the illusion of a cooling effect. Keratex Cooling Gel will actually cool the internal structures of the legs with a marked difference in temperature, making it a safe and highly effective product.

Solution 4 Feet Matrix

Solution 4 Feet Matrix

Solution 4 Feet Matrix: the new effective hoof packing material with strong disinfection properties and an ability to “knit” into existing healthy horn.

Solution 4 Feet Matrix is a new product which has proven highly effective at dealing with a variety of horn problems.

Solution 4 Feet Matrix is a filamentous keratinous base impregnated with the 21st Century hoof disinfectant Solution4 Feet.

Solution 4 Feet Matrix is best used; under the branches of the shoe to pack the white line, in and around the frog, under sole or frog pads, and into any defects in the hoof following removal of infected horn.

Solution 4 Feet Matrix is unique, not only in its composition and texture which allows a continual release of active ingredients into the hoof horn with every step the horse takes, but it conforms to the surrounding horn providing support and encouraging the normal function of the hoof. This is particularly important when large areas of horn have been resected either due to horn infection or acute or chronic founder (severe laminitis).

The hoof is able to resume normal function thereby avoiding the hoof distortions which commonly occur following removal of large areas of hoof horn. The new horn is able to grow into a persistently clean environment.

Solution 4 Feet Matrix retains its activity and supporting role to the hoof throughout a normal shoeing interval. Even when used under pads Solution4 Feet Matrix absorbs the “sweat” from the sole and frog and keeps the horn healthy enabling natural exfoliation of horn. The soles and frogs neither become hard and solid with the adverse effects of “locking” the hoof into an abnormal shape nor do they become “waterlogged” leaving a filthy mess beneath the pad.

Solution 4 Feet Matrix is oxygen permeable and contains no chemicals such as formaldehyde which damage hoof horn.

Solution4 Feet Matrix allows the hoof to retain its function and malleability during the period of new horn growth.

Equine Relax

Calming Formula for Horses
Horses can become tense for many reasons, but when it stems from a shortfall in the levels of certain key nutritional ingredients, then Equine Relax can provide the answer to achieving a more sensible and attentive animal. Equine Relax contains the full range of actives that can be low in the horse’s diet. Firstly, it contains Vitamin B1 and Vitamin E, both these vitamins can help nervous horses to settle, as well as being advantageous for muscle problems.
It also contains Magnesium, some horses may suffer from a lack of available magnesium in their diets andthese horses become hypersensitive, even in their normal stable environment.
It contains the amino acid L-Tryptophan which has a calming effect on horses. When fed in high doses Tryptophan is converted by the body to a natural sedative. In humans it has been used to treat insomnia.
Equine Relax can be used right up to and during competition as it contains no prohibited substances. It does not reduce performance.
